Postgraduate Certificate in Montessori Education (Full or Part-time) 

This Montessori Qualification provides intensive or part-time training for graduates wishing to work with children in the age-range of 0 to 7 years. The qualification is suitable for people to either work in, or be in charge of, nurseries, possibly subject to three years experience.

Entry Qualifications 

A bachelor’s degree (in any subject) from a British University, or a qualification of equivalent status from a recognised institution abroad, or qualified teacher status from the UK DfE.

Syllabus 

The course covers the same topics as the Early Childhood Teaching Diploma, but with additional seminars on research methodology.

In addition to the taught part of the course, postgraduate students produce a 10,000-word dissertation based on a short research project. This will require attendance at some additional seminars on research methodology in the first term, and then individual tutorials.  The project will be of the standard of a pilot study for a master’s degree.

Course Structure 

The course may be studied intensively or over two years, on a similar basis to the Early Childhood Teaching Diploma.
